Photos of people and private spaces
You own the photos and the responsibility that comes with them. A short, practical guide.
- Photograph the work, not the people. Frame the wall, the roof, the equipment. If someone is in the shot, wait a moment or ask.
- Interiors are private. Tell the homeowner you document the work with photos and that they can see every one on their share link. Avoid bedrooms, personal items and documents that are not part of the job.
- Faces and plates. Jobsite warns when a photo has faces. Use the blur tool before sharing; the original stays untouched underneath.
- Children. Do not photograph children. If one is in a shot, blur or delete before sharing.
- Crew photos. Safety photos (harnesses, anchors) often include your crew. That is fine for your records; think twice before putting them on a client link.
- Local rules. Some states and cities have their own rules about recording. When in doubt, ask and write it down in the job notes.
Jobsite never identifies people. Face detection on the phone exists only to warn you.
